APRICA Day 1 and 2:

An energetic bunch of Year 10’s made their way to Aprica on Saturday. We arrived at our hotel just in time for dinner before a chill evening.

Easter Sunday was full of excitement as we had a jam packed day of skiing ahead. From nursery slopes to black runs, the kids embraced the first day with full force and lots of smiles.

APRICA Day 3:

Second day on the slopes has been an absolute blast. Plenty of progress made by all & much better weather conditions. Lead instructor Gigi complimented all our students on their manners, attitude & readiness. All pupils have been fantastic & they have been a credit to Castle Rushen. Please make sure you click on the link above to see all of today’s action! #skibug

APRICA DAY 4:

Vibes were high around the breakfast table after Mr Bakers infamous quiz & the gorgeous sunshine we woke up to. Excellent conditions all round meant that every single pupil made it up the mountain off the nursery slopes, with all 40 of our beginner skiers completing both a blue & red run! With only 3 days skiing experience, this is a fantastic achievement for all students and a true reflection of the dedication to improve and progress! Karaoke tonight, with the one and only Mr Seddon for DT kicking the evening off for us! We look forward to seeing what tomorrow will bring #skisuccess

Quiz results:

1st place - Bakers skinny jeans (Libby, Izzy, Sofia, Darcey, Keira, Jessie)

2nd place - Honda C90 (Oisin, Jack, Ethan, Stan, Hugo & Josh)

3rd place - Inexperienced Wooden Spoons - French Fries (Alfie, DJ, Joe & Bradley)

APRICA DAY 5:

Our karaoke night was a great success. Each room was set the challenge of stepping up to the mic. Every single one of them exceeded expectations. Our special shout out of the night goes to Harry who performed a solo to his favourite song, Firework by Katy Perry. We would go as far to say it was better than the original.

Today’s skiing saw more success on the slopes. Our advanced group spent most of the day off piste, the intermediate conquered black runs and our beginner groups managed to smash blue, red and even a little black run!! This evening we are having a games night in Aprica town, followed by watching the football! #skiliftlegends

APRICA DAY 6:

A very busy day & night for all. We ended Wednesday night with a trip into town to watch the football. Thursday morning we woke up to gorgeous sunshine again which meant a jam packed day of skiing! Lots of off piste & black runs secured. We ended the evening with our fancy dress night & a disco. I am sure you will agree, everyone looks fantastic! #whereswally #smilingdowntheslopes

APRICA DAY 7:

Yesterday was our final day on the slopes! It was jam packed full of action from group races to awards night celebrations! All pupils took part in a timed slalom where they were presented medals by their instructors! This was then followed by our awards evening where we recognised all of the successes and memories made! A great week with our Year 10 pupils, they were a credit to the school! We hope they’ve all made memories to last a lifetime, we definitely have. We made it safely back to the island and bid the pupils farewell. An amazing group, thank you for the memories & the endless laughs!⛷️ #aprica2024 #wercr #skitripoverandout
