We are delighted to announce that CRHS has once again been awarded the Secondary Geography Quality Mark with Centre of Excellence status; an award we have held since 2014! The Geography Quality Marks are prestigious awards which recognise and promote quality and progress in geography leadership, curriculum development and learning and teaching in schools. All award winners are subject to a vigorous moderation process by a team of experts, and CRHS was commended for an excellent submission that was 'a joy to read and moderate'.
In feedback from the Geographical Association, the moderators praised the 'contemporary methods' and 'well thought-through curriculum', saying, "CRHS is demonstrably a very well-led department with a finger on the pulse of contemporary geographical education."
Castle Rushen is one of only 10 schools across the world to receive the Centre of Excellence status in the 2020 awards. We are incredibly proud of this achievement, and our thanks go to our wonderful Geography department.
