Congratulations to one of our senior students Daisy who was selected to represent the island at the UK Youth Parliament debate held at the House of Commons on 28th February.
Applications were open to young people age 11-18 and the successful applicant was required to deliver a short address from the Despatch Box on the topic of Jobs, the Economy and Benefits. This topic was decided by high schools from across the Isle of Man who took part in a 'Mark Your Mark' ballot; it was chosen as the topic most important to them.
Daisy addressed the chamber in front of 300 other young people from around the UK, British Oversees Territories and Crown Dependencies. We were fortunate enough to be able to listen to the live streaming of the event and were impressed at Daisy's confident and persuasive delivery.
We are all proud of Daisy and hope that this very special experience continues to inspire her as she moves forward.
Congratulations Daisy and well done!
