Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
I hope you have all had a restful half-term break.
I am writing to you this Sunday evening regarding school transport for the first week back. We have delayed sending this message until now as we were monitoring the situation closely in the sincere hope that a resolution could be reached over the weekend. With that possibility now gone, we must unfortunately confirm the disruption to school bus services.
Please see the confirmed impact of the bus strike from Monday 23 February to Monday 2 March below.
❌ What is NOT running:
Regular School Bus Services: The dedicated double-deckers that serve the school will not run.
Inter-school sports & Collaboration buses: These are cancelled.
✅ What IS running:
Home-to-School Transport: This refers specifically to statutory transport (minibuses/taxis) for eligible students (e.g., those with specific educational needs). If your child utilises this specific service, it will operate as normal.
Public Scheduled Services: Bus Vannin has confirmed that students may use their Go Cards on all available public bus services during the strike period.
Next Steps for Parents:
If your child relies on the regular school bus, please:
Check the reduced strike timetable: Services are limited, but Bus Vannin advises that operating services will bring secondary students to within walking distance of schools.

Plan Alternative Travel: We strongly encourage car-sharing or walking where feasible to reduce traffic congestion.
Check Real-Time Info: Please check www.findmybus.im or the Bus Vannin social media pages for daily updates.
We understand that this will cause significant inconvenience tomorrow morning. Please be assured that we will be understanding regarding lateness caused by these transport issues.
We will keep you updated as soon as we receive further information from the Department of Infrastructure.
Thank you for your patience and support.
