- Understand the role and skills of a performer
- Develop performance skills and techniques for live performance
- Apply performance skills and techniques in selected styles
- Review and reflect on development of skills and techniques for live performance.
- Participate in regular workshops, classes and exercises where you will acquire, practise and develop the necessary technical, practical and interpretative performance skills to help you succeed when performing live to an audience.
- Exploration of a range of practitioners, playwrights and theatre companies

1) Formal presentation: Verbal or written presentation based on understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the performer

Spring Term | Unit 1: Investigating practitioners’ work
- Exploration of a range of practitioners, playwrights and theatre companies
- Understanding different performance styles and intentions
- Investigating contextual factors
- The relationships between contextual factors, creative intentions and themes
- Critical analysis of the work of performing arts practitioners
- Be able to present conclusions and independent judgements through effective investigation
- Examining a scenario and being able to apply the best styles, pracittioners and performance techniques in a creative manner
| EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT WRITTEN EXAM – MAY/JUNE 90 Guided Learning hours
- Assessed through a written task and completed under supervised conditions.
- The supervised assessment period is a maximum of three hours
- Before the supervised assessment period, learners will have a four-week period in order to carry out research and preparatory work.
