Year 12 into Year 13 Physics Transition Tasks.
Week 1 – due week beginning 3rd Sept 18

In Year12 we will study Modules 1, 2, 3 and 4.
In Year 13 we will study Modules 5 and 6.
Make sure that these are topics which you are interested in studying!
Page 58 of the specification gives details of the three examinations (components 01, 02 and 03)
that are taken at the end of Year 13.
Week 2 – due week beginning 10th Sept 18
Organise your folder/workbook, learning journal and PAG book.
You will be given guidance sheets for both the learning journal and PAG book to stick inside the
front covers. These will explain how they are to be used.
Also complete the questions on series and parallel circuits from the transition booklet at:

Week 3 – due week beginning 17th Sept 18
Complete the exam questions pack (see attached) from Chapter 3.

Week 4 – due week beginning 24th Sept 18
Complete the research part of PAG 11.2 - see highlighted section of attached sheet.

You will first need to write brief notes about the concept of specific heat capacity.
You will then need to write a detailed plan of how to carry out this experiment. This should include
appropriate references indicating sources of information that you have used. It should also include
a risk assessment.
Week 5 – due week beginning 1st Oct 18
